This gallery showcases vehicles that we have reworked over the last few years. Some had been back to Unique Performance multiple times, all of them were returned to their owners as solid drivable vehicles.
Some of them had been back multiple times to correct basic issues, all of them were returned to their owners as solid drivable vehicles. The most common response we received from these owners was “This is how my car should have been the first time.”
Super Snake SS016
SS016 Is an early build Snake that has spent its 300 miles of life in and out of repair facilities at home and at UP. It was back on its 3rd trip to UP for drivability issues and overheating when it was seized in the police impound. The early build Shelby 427 FE had just been rebuilt and reinstalled and the vehicle was being reassembled when UP was shut down.
CSE066 Performance
CSE066 is another case of a customer who bought his GT500E to drive and has had limited driving time due to constant repairs on his “E.” CSE 066 is a multiple show winner in its home state but had already been back to UP 3 times for repairs and was back for its 4th trip when it was caught up in the police impound of the vintage vehicles. Once the vehicle was released, we began our rework.
Super Snake SS023
SS023 was in the unfortunate situation of being at Unique Performance for upgrade at the time of the police impound. This Super Snake had only seen 50 miles of driving in two years of ownership due to the typical overheating and poor drivability issues. This is the first Super Snake that we have reworked as Revved Automotive Concepts and is one of the best we have driven.
G.T. 350 SR CSC 011
Our first rework done as Revved Automotive Concepts was CSC 011. Our first round of upgrades was done remotely and will be an ongoing process. CSC 011 resides in a sunny climate with good driving weather year round but the owner has been unable to enjoy the car due to the production issues. Two trips back to UP with no resolution brought us together. We have performed our XFI sequential upgrade, installed our power steering cooler, parking brake upgrade, new hydraulics for the clutch, and our street worthy disk. These upgrades have made this a completely different car.
G.T. 500E Performance CSE 028
CSE 028 came in for the typical alignment issues, poor drivability, and paint issues. Her owner also decided to remove the "E" hood and replace it with a '67 Shelby hood for a cleaner appearance. After being reworked and retuned she is enjoying life back on the road.
G.T 500E Super Snake SS 024C
I have been told that SS024C was the first convertible Super Snake built and all I can say is the Pepper Grey with Black stripes never looked so good. SS024C received our Super Snake upgrade package less the radiator (it was still in development at the time) along with several of the other upgrades.
G.T. 500E Performance CSE 035
CSE 035 will go down as one of the most original GT500Es built. When you look past the fact that it wears the classic Pepper Grey/ Black stripe combination you will notice some options that were not even on the build sheet. CSE 035 is one of two GT500Es built with an automatic transmission. After burning up two AODs, CSE035 was upgraded to a purpose built C6 with an overdrive unit. While back in for service the owner requested a power brake system, so this car is now one of two equipped with a hydraulic brake assist system run by the power steering system. This car also was the first car to be retrofitted with our XFI sequential fuel injection system. This car is currently for sale by its owner. Please see our Vehicles for Sale page for more information.
CSE 024 was back in for its third visit for repairs with barely 2000 miles on the odometer. The carbureted 408 was a victim of the “race car” ideology that permeated many of the design decisions and was not properly tuned for the street. After a complete carburetor and distributor rework, a hydraulic clutch upgrade for the T56, and some serious suspension rework this car was delivered back home to a happy customer that drives her car as much as the weather will allow.
When you love muscle cars and particularly Shelby’s like the owner of SS067 you generally need to decide which of your cars you are going to drive and which are going to sit in the garage; well this owner drives all of his. But the one he bought to DRIVE is his White with Blue stripe Super Snake. Fortunately for him we were on board for the second time his car was sent back to correct the typical Super Snake lack of power and overheating issues. With the owner’s permission the car was used to test out prototypes of our upgrade package. I love cars with great names and “Big Ellie” is one of my personal favorites. I will have pictures of her on the website soon.
CSE 041 was brought in with a dire diagnosis. With only 800 miles on the odometer she was running poorly and backfiring among some other body issues. A trip to a local performance shop found that the fuel injection was tuned so rich that the cylinder walls were washed and several cylinders had low compression. After a complete retune, repairing 2 bad injector driver wires, swapping down 2 injector sizes, a boroscope inspection, a compression test, fresh spark plugs and an oil change CSE 034 was brought back to life. The 306ci engine registered 340 hp and 315 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels. A recheck of the engine compression after tuning and road testing found the engine to be sealing nicely.
If the Pepper Grey/ Black stripes is the must have Eleanor paint scheme; the reverse is for those who “must have” but want something a little more elegant. SS073 is a Black with Grey stripe Super Snake in a tuxedo; very distinguished, very sharp- and we all know that nothing can match the looks of a black car. SS073 was on her second visit for repair of the chronic Super Snake ailments while we were beginning our research. SS073 was another one of the first Snakes to receive our upgrade package short of the radiator with astounding results. Our first dyno runs netted an anemic 430 hp and 420 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels and ended with 580hp and 590 ft/lbs of torque. The final road test with one of the owners when we delivered SS073 back is one that neither he nor I will forget.
